Quilting Adventures

Love all the quilt and block patterns and how I can mix and match to create my own quilt, with the added quilt border design variations. It's a wonderful book to have in your quilt library. I'll be using and playing with this for years to come.A slight problem with my book, I'll be contacting the publisher for, between pages 166-167, one of the signature stitches is broken, and I'm concerned the book will over time start separating.

I purchased these books for my wife and my aunt. They love the way that the book focuses on designing your own quilt and all the math is done for you. The author’s perspective allows you to decide your own path to your quilt design by giving you the tools. The book even provides digital downloads in many forms to assist you in your design. The book is well written and doesn’t assume all of the readers are expert quilters.

Initially thought there were too many lists and thought not for me. But i pesevered and was rewarded once you get past the different approach to most of my other quilting books you realise that this book is a treasure trove that allows you to combine blocks into your own unique quilt. The colours used in the illustrations are bland for my taste. The instructions are clear and a brilliant introduction to modern quilting design.

Für einen Anfänger ist es ein tolles Buch. Für jeden einzelnen Quilt gibt es eine ganz genaue Anleitung in Tabellenform.Die Quilts selber sind wunderschön und auch für Ungeübte/Anfänger leicht nachzuarbeiten.

It’s certainly a unique book, not prescriptive in set patterns - it helps you design your own quilts and do the maths for making them . Takes a while to get the hang of but then it’s faster than working out on your own I think. If you are the type of quilter who’s looking for easy and ready to rock it’s not going to be for you !

Beautifully made and organized. The colors are greatly and all diagrams very easy to follow.

I just got this book but have read much of it and can tell that it will get a lot of use. I will likely use it as a springboard for designing in Electric Quilt. It appeals to my enjoyment of the precision in quilting as well as my love of modern and improvisational quilting. Excellent book that will prove useful and enjoyable by quilters of all levels. My new favorite quilting book!

Really great book for new quilters like myself or for those just new to quilt design. I loved the library of blocks and maths table to know exactly how to cut my fabric up. Highly recommended.

As a new quilter, I have struggled to find books that have easy-to-follow, yet creatively interesting patterns. This book has exceeded ALLLLLL of my expectations! The "choose your own' adventure style pattern approach gives me the right amount of guard rails to build upon that has let me give each design my own spin. I could not be happier! If you are thinking about buying this book for yourself or as a gift, JUST DO IT!

I mostly bought this quilt book for the cover photo. It had some great block ideas and it said it does all the math for you. Well, I am not disappointed. This is not a beginner book that will show you how to do everything but anything you need to know “recipe” wise, you can find here. It has block designs including what they look like as a center square or 4 or as a border. This is helpful as a block standing alone does not look the same as when you group them together. This alone made the book worth it to me. I tend to grasp ideas like this fairly easy as I have been quilting for a number of years now (even if I do qualify as a millennial), but it sparked so many more ideas just seeing it instead of having to think it through. There are layout options for using the blocks as well. She provides a link to printable cutouts so you can visualize what a potential quilt will look like as well as links to canvas and illustrator (and I believe a few other formats however I don’t have the book in front of me currently). Then there are pages of the “math” which is also extremely helpful. My favorite part is that the quilt on the cover actually has a pattern within the book. I thought it was maybe a cool effect showing two quilts cut in half. Nope. This is a quilt you can make or edit however you want utilizing the blocks in the book. It is a really cool resource so you can make a custom quilt without needing to do all the hard thinking.

The work that went into this book is incredible. Everything I need to know lies in these pages. Would recommend to a quilter of any level!

Just got my copy in the mail and can’t wait to start my first project! The book is filled with detail, takes out the math and guesswork in cutting and fabric requirements in creating my own, one of a kind quilt design. Great value because the design possibilities are endless. And if you don’t want to come up with your own design, the author provides instructions on quilts she’s put together.The book comes with a ton of other digital supporting materials that allow the reader to visualise their final project and generate different layout options quick!Definitely a book that won’t date and be sitting on your shelf for years to come.
