I've really like this book so far. It gives clear explanations to how approach things and the better holds good the water. I am an amateur and just started with this as a hobby so I like that this book is specifically created for people with the same approach as me with watercolor. I recommend

This book has every step to start a water colour hobby, lists equipment you need colours that are best and a step by step guide to painting beautiful pictures

The paper works spectacularly well with water colour pencils. Trace the image on to proper watercolour paper when using watercolour paint otherwise, the paint sits on top making it difficult to work.

I started painting with watercolor using Sarah’s previous book and had to get this one. To be able to paint right on the book is awesome. I love the color recipes and the step by step instructions. Thank you Sarah for yet another fabulous book 🩷

Even for a brief sleepover, I pack paints and a brush. The new Cafe in Bloom watercolor workbook, by Sarah Simon is my go-to. (I have all three of her books!) Clear directions, easy to mix colors, and light lined illustrations allow the artist in all of us to paint with delight. Follow her lead to achieve her look and style, or try your own colors and methods for a unique outcome. The options are limitless. LOVE this book.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐I now own 3 of Sarah’s workbooks! The illustrations are beautiful and inspiring. I can get a little bit of creative time and learn and refine my watercolor techniques. I love that I can just focus on watercolors without drawing an image first. It’s so easy that my 5-year-old joins me most of the time!

The illustration quality is incredible and also very inspiring. The paper quality is also top notch. This is a great book for beginners but also fun for those with experience. You can tell there was a lot of thought, effort and intention put forth by the author. Highly recommend

I love how these watercolor workbooks make me so eager to paint! Beautiful layout (again!), the color mixing suggestions and the creative designs. I am so impressed with how Sarah Simon comes up with such creative projects and quality teaching through her workbooks. Bravo!!

This is the third book I've bought in this series and I love it so much. I have given her first two as gifts many times over and will do the same with this one. Her lessons are well laid out for the new or advanced watercolor artist/hobbyist/experimenter. Sarah Simon provides pre-drawn lessons that are beautiful and interesting - everyone would feel successful as you move through this beautiful book! I love the first book as primarily florals, second book has some wildlife and this one has more architecture and whimsical scenes. It is the best gift to give someone! High quality paper makes this beautiful bookstand out as well.

I am slowly working my way through this book as a beginner in watercolour painting, learning about colour blending, which brushes to use and how the paints work with water. There are pictures as you progress through the book giving instructions on which colours to use and how to paint the designs. No need to draw or find pictures to practice on from other sources, I would recommend the book for beginner watercolour artists.

Bought for a friend's birthday, since i had one and really enjoyed it. She loved it, and in combination with the mug i got her, said it was the best gift she got! And it was her 21st birthday, so thats saying something!

Nice sketches

Está genial, fue un regalo para mi mamá que quería comenzar a pintar con acuarelas. Me encantaron las páginas con hojas gruesas para pintar, los tutoriales paso a paso de cómo pintar distintas cosas e incluso una guía del tipo de acuarelas para comprar, así como los tonos que necesitas para completar los ejercicios. Muy contenta con la compra, llegó en perfecto estado y en el tiempo indicado.

This was the best of her books for me

The instructions and exercises are all excellent but it's frustrating to try to do watercolor washes on pages that won't lie flat. I will probably rip apart the whole book so I can clip the exercise pages to a drawing board and collect it all into a 3 ring binder. Can't complain about the price, though.

This book is kind of like a big coloring book. I like that the images are pre-printed on very good paper so I can focus on technique and color mixing. The author gives explicit instructions- down to color recipes and also which brush to use. It is an easy way to build learning and confidence, while being fun, and relaxing. The projects build in complexity, while the successes I have make me confident that I can move forward. My one complaint is that for such a nice book, the author elected not to have it spiral bound. It doesn’t lie flat. I had to have it spiral bound in order to be able to use it effectively.
